Below we have complied a list of frequently asked questions. If you cannot find an answer to your question here, please submit your question through the Contact Us page and we’ll answer you as soon as possible.

Bookings

Will I get an invoice?

Yes, invoices are sent out with your receipt once the booking has been processed by our Student Services team.

How do I know my course booking is confirmed?

A confirmation email will be sent from Student Services within three working days of receiving the booking. This will be sent to the email provided at the time of booking. Please refrain from booking any travel tickets or accommodation until you receive the confirmation email.

Can I pay for my course by instalments?

Instalment payment plans are only available to Level 4 Diploma students who are UK residents and hold a UK bank account. To request a form please email student services: studentservicesteam@wsetglobal.com

Course entry requirements

All classes are delivered in English, therefore a good level of English is essential for all courses. 

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits

No prior qualification is required.

WSET Level 3 Award in Wines

You must hold the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits or successfully complete the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines Online Entry Test

WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits

You must hold the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines/Wines and Spirits.

Exams

When will I receive my results?

  • Level 1, Level 2 and Diploma Unit 2 — Results will be issued up to 4 weeks from the date you sat your exam
  • Level 3 — Results will be issued up to 10 weeks from the date you sat your exam
  • Level 4 Diploma, Units 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 — Results will be issued up to 12 weeks from the date you sat your exam

What happens if I fail an exam?

You can re-sit any failed exam by completing the relevant re-sit examination booking form. Please see the Exam Re-sits page below.

Can I sit my exam at a later date?

Yes, you can postpone your exam to a later date by completing a paid transfer examination booking form:

What happens if I’m ill on the day of my exam?

You can apply for a deferral under the extenuating circumstances policy. You will need to supply relevant documentation. Please contact student services as soon as possible on +44 020 7089 3841 or studentservicesteam@wsetglobal.com.

General

Can I apply for a bursary?

WSET School London offers a bursary scheme. To find out if you are eligible or to apply, please contact us on bursary@wset.co.uk.

Can I get help with a student VISA?

No, WSET School London does not issue VISAs. We are registered with Gov.UK -  UK Visas and Immigration as a short-course provider, but you will need to go through the VISA application process with Gov.UK -  UK Visas and Immigration. Please refer to their website for more information.

Study materials

When will I receive my study materials?

Study materials will be dispatched from the day you receive your course booking confirmation email. NB: Level 1 students will receive their study materials on the day of their course.

I have not received the Diploma Unit 1 study materials? Where can I locate them?

You will need to log into the Online Classroom where these materials are available as a downloadable PDF file in the essential reading section.
